According to a report from Eghtesad News, citing Young Journalists Club, the spokesperson for the Customs Administration stated that in 2021, more than 13 million and 127 thousand tons of goods worth five billion and 643 million dollars were exchanged between Iran and the members of the Eurasian Economic Union.

Rouhollah Latifi said that in 2021, trade between Iran and the members of the Eurasian Economic Union grew by 51% in weight and 66% in value.

According to the Customs spokesperson, in 2021, Iran’s imports from the members of the Eurasian Economic Union reached 10 million and 356 thousand and 890 tons, valued at four billion and 472 million and 466 thousand and 480 dollars, showing a growth of 73% in weight and 90% in value.

Russia accounted for 88% of the weight and 91% of the value of imports from Eurasia, selling 9 million and 102 thousand and 151 tons of goods worth four billion and 53 million and 854 thousand and 209 dollars. This represents a 74% increase in weight and a 92% increase in value compared to the same period, primarily consisting of essential goods, oils, and animal feed.

The Customs spokesperson stated that Kazakhstan, with 1 million and 240 thousand and 48 dollars worth of goods totaling 379 million and 271 thousand and 48 dollars, is the second-largest source of Iran’s imports from Eurasia, with a growth of 67% in weight and 88% in value.

Belarus is the third source of goods for our country in the Eurasian Union, selling 9 thousand and 280 tons of goods valued at 28 million and 605 thousand and 553 dollars, experiencing a decrease of 28% and 8% in weight and value, respectively.

Armenia was the fourth source of purchases from Eurasia, with 4 thousand and 475 tons of goods valued at 9 million and 71 thousand and 825 dollars, showing a 29% decrease in weight and a 24% increase in the value of imports. Finally, Kyrgyzstan was the fifth source of goods sold to Iran in this union, providing 935 tons of goods valued at 1 million and 663 thousand and 845 dollars, with a decrease of 57% and 35% in weight and value.
